Community events calendar
Bangalore residents can mark their calendars for July gatherings across multiple neighbourhoods starting this week.
How we reported this
Bangalore lists 52 community events scheduled between July 13 and July 31 across its main districts.
Global supply pressures and recent international incidents have pushed more residents toward local meet-ups that require no travel and low costs. Organisers report higher sign-ups than in the same period last year as people seek nearby activities that fit tight household budgets.
Venues and programmes
Cubbon Park hosts a weekly Sunday morning clean-up drive run by the Bangalore Environment Trust every week at 7 a.m. Participants gather near the Queen’s Statue entrance before moving to the central lawns. In Indiranagar the 1st Cross Community Centre runs a free storytelling session for children on alternate Saturdays, with the next one set for July 18 at 4 p.m. Both programmes accept walk-ins and keep registration lists on paper to avoid digital barriers.
Further east, the Koramangala Indoor Stadium has opened its badminton courts for a monthly residents’ tournament organised by the local ward office. Entry costs 80 rupees per player and includes shuttle use. The July edition takes place on the 25th with courts booked from 6 a.m. to noon.
Numbers and dates
City records show 1,240 people attended community events in the first week of July 2025, a figure organisers expect to exceed this month after three new ward-level grants were released on July 5. Average ticket prices sit at 60 rupees, with 18 events listed as completely free. The next deadline for stall bookings at the Lalbagh Sunday market falls on July 14.
Residents can collect printed calendars at the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike ward offices on MG Road and in Jayanagar or check updates posted on neighbourhood notice boards. Early arrival is advised for events with limited seating.
