While financial investment reached ₹855 crore specifically for Bengaluru’s smart initiatives as of February 2020, the scope of these efforts is now expanding.
Looking toward future professional opportunities, the Karnataka government has announced the Greater Bengaluru Integrated Township (GBIT) at Bidadi. Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has framed this project as India’s first and largest AI-powered city, an initiative that aims to extend smart urban infrastructure beyond the city's current core. Additionally, a separate 5,800-acre project known as KWIN City is under construction near the airport, targeting sectors such as semiconductors, aerospace, and artificial intelligence.
