Multiple Leagues Run Year-Round
Football development in the city rests on established platforms that operate alongside one-off tournaments. The KSFA Youth League covers age groups from Under-7 to Under-17 and has run since 2019. Additional pathways include the Double Pass India Development League and the TAL competition run by Sports Paddock for Under-13, Under-15 and Under-19 squads.
These structures allow players who competed in the Community League to move straight into regular fixtures without long breaks. Local coaches note that consistent schedules help maintain fitness and team cohesion across different clubs and academy groups.
Numbers Show Scale of Participation
Earlier in 2025 the 4th Mini Karnataka Games drew more than 5,000 athletes under the age of 14 to 27 different sports in Bengaluru, according to the event records kept by the Karnataka Olympic Association and the Sports Authority of Karnataka. Separate grassroots efforts have also recorded steady reach: Sport for Life, operating across seven East Bengaluru playgrounds, has trained more than 900 children in recent seasons and supported over 5,000 from slum communities since the program began in 2004.
Basketball programs add another dimension. Hoops Genesis, an eight-year-old academy in the city, combines on-court instruction with lessons on avoiding addiction and managing mental health pressures that can affect teenagers.
Parents and academy staff can check fixture lists published by the KSFA and Sports Paddock for the next registration windows. Several clubs open trial sessions in August for the upcoming league blocks, giving new players a direct route into competitive play that follows the pattern set by the Community League.
