Facilities at these schools typically include 200m athletics tracks along with shot-put circles and long-jump pits, allowing consistent training without reliance on external venues for basic practice.
Competitions Connect Multiple Schools
Baldwin Girls High School and Delhi Public School (East) tied as overall champions with 79 points each at the second Herbalife Bangalore Schools Games held at Sree Kanteerava Stadium. The event covered athletics, football, basketball, swimming and tennis, drawing teams from across the city. Earlier, Vydehi School of Excellence secured 66 medals and the overall girls’ championship at an inter-school athletics competition at Kittur Rani Chennama Stadium in October 2024. These meets create repeated opportunities for students to interact beyond their own campuses.
The inaugural SFA Championships took place at the Sports Authority of India Netaji Subhas Southern Centre and featured over 500 athletes in U-14 to U-18 categories competing in sprints, high jump and shot put. Such gatherings expand the network of contacts between schools while maintaining focus on age-appropriate events. Schools use these platforms to coordinate schedules and share training approaches, strengthening ties among coaches and athletes.
