Karnataka has approved a ₹1,650-₹2,350 crore mega sports complex near Surya City in the Bommasandra and Anekal area, anchored by an 80,000-seat international cricket stadium. The Karnataka Housing Board has floated a ₹943.46 crore tender for the 80,000-capacity cricket stadium at Indlawadi in Suryanagara 4th Phase, with completion expected within three years. These developments provide physical spaces that local clubs can use to organise regular training and matches.
Access Improvements for Neighbourhood Clubs
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited plans a 4-km branch line extension to Surya City. This link will give clubs based in eastern and southern suburbs easier daily access without relying on longer road journeys. Clubs operating near Bommasandra and Anekal can schedule sessions at the new stadium and surrounding facilities once the metro connection is ready.
Additional Complexes on Public-Private Model
The state sports department has floated tenders for two new sports complexes on the PPP model at Honnaganahatti off Magadi Road and Ravuthanahalli off Tumakuru Road. These form part of a plan for four international multi-sport complexes costing ₹280 crore total. Local clubs in western and northern parts of the city can book time at these sites for multi-sport programmes that draw in residents from nearby residential areas.
School-Level Initiatives Already Active
Gallant Sports unveiled a new multi-sport turf arena at PSBB School in Bangalore in May 2026. This facility shows how clubs can partner with schools to run after-hours sessions and weekend community events. Such setups allow smaller clubs to test coaching formats and build regular participant groups before scaling up to the larger upcoming complexes.
The combination of the central cricket stadium tender, the two PPP complexes, the metro extension and the recent school turf gives clubs concrete locations to run sustained programmes. Clubs can divide their activities across these sites according to sport type and participant numbers. Completion of the Indlawadi stadium within three years will mark the next practical milestone for clubs planning longer-term schedules.
