Corporations and Wards: The Core Counts

Five new municipal corporations-Bengaluru West, South, North, East, and Central-were officially notified to replace the single BBMP. Each corporation is set with approximately 150 wards, producing a total of roughly 750 wards across the city. The civic administration has transitioned to a three-tier structure with the Greater Bengaluru Authority at the top, the five municipal corporations in the middle, and ward committees at the grassroots level. Property Rules

The state Cabinet granted legal status to B-Khata properties issued between 2009 and September 30, 2024. Rules were also eased by removing the mandatory Occupancy Certificate requirement for small plots of 30x40 ft or smaller. These changes apply to properties documented within the stated window and size limits.
